Chitin and Chitosan are biocompatible and non-toxic biomaterials with numerous applications for coming century. Chitin is a natural polymeric form N- acetyl-b- D- glucosamine and chitosan is deacetylates product of chitin. Chitin has different forms od molecular arrangement; a-chitin is an anti - parallel oreintation and b-chitin is an parallel orientation. Both a and b forms of chitin are our commercially products with are consistently processed from different sources of raw materials such as shirmp shells, crab shells and squid pens. With their surprising structural and chemical properties make chitin and chitosan composite of particular interest for numerous fields of application.
